Start with the invoice and work backwards
A good work order contains exactly the information that is needed later for control, customer communication and invoicing. Too few fields create follow-up questions; too many fields slow down execution.
Minimum elements
- Job data and customer location.
- Start and end time or time spent.
- Used materials and deviations.
- Photos, checklist results and approval moment.
Make feedback simple
Employees on the road must be able to register completed work quickly. Use choice lists where possible and free text only where nuance is needed.
